Bahamas Fly-In 2 to Bimini and Andros Island
Last weekend I went on another fly-in sponsored by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. This time we went through Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) to Bimini and Andros Island. We returned via Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Again I was just a passenger in another private plane, but I was with my CFI this time.
A few months later I bought the plane from which most of these pictures were taken.
Bimini
That’s not a giant Hershey’s kiss below but a VOR installed by the U.S. government.
Wreckage like that is a common sight around airports in the Bahamas.
Andros Island
They’ve really let some of these old control towers go.
